The Certifications

Biotta stands for Bio (German for organic), and thus simultaneously for the quality of our superior products. It is of the utmost importance to us that the entire organic cycle, from cultivation to processing and production remains intact. To guarantee this to you, our products are certified by, or fulfill the requirements of:

  
  Bio Suisse, www.bio-suisse.ch
Trademark for inspected organic cultivation. Biotta has attained the «Knospe» level of certification. 
   

  Swiss Bio-Regulation, certified through bio.inspecta, www.bio-inspecta.ch
bio.inspecta inspects and certifies organic products according to the regulations defined by Swiss Bio Regulations and Bio Suisse. This company was founded in order to guarantee neutral, independent and credible inspection and certification of organic products. 





BRC Certification, certified through the Swiss Association for Quality and Management System (SQS), www.sqs.ch
The British BRC Certification has received wide acceptance in the area of food safety, and is now required in many European countries. The BRC Food Standard Certification is acquired through the Swiss Association for Quality and Management System (SQS). The SQS regularly inspects the proces­sing, bottling and production of Biotta juices.

The EU-BIO-Regulation VO 2092/91/EWG was implemented in 1992, and regulates organic cultivation. This regulation, applicable law in all EU countries, defines the minimum requirements for cultivation and inspection of organic products. 





National Organic Program (NOP), www.ams.usda.gov/nop
In order to sell organic agricultural products in the USA, the goods and their ingredients (in the case of processed goods) must receive NOP certification and the USDA Organic Seal from the U. S. Depart­ment of Agriculture (USDA). The certification requirements are governed by the strictest US regulations, and the process is very involved. The inspection and certification are acquired through bio.inspecta. 





Halal-Certificaion, www.halalcontrol.info
The products and production systems are independently inspected and certified according to the Islamic dietary and cleanliness regulations (Halal Guidelines ). HALAL CONTROL is an independent and accredited inspection and certification body for Halal foods. 





Japanese Agriculture Standard (JAS), www.maff.go.jp
JAS is the law implemented by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture (MAFF) to regulate the labeling of organic products in Japan. In practical terms, the law forbids the use of prohibited substances throughout the entire growth and production process.
